Toshiaki “Toshi” Suzuki is the Co-CMO of Alluminox treatment at Rakuten Medical. As Co-CMO, Toshi oversees many key functions including medical, science, marketing, device development, and clinical development; all of which are critical to the future direction of Rakuten Medical’s Alluminox™ technology platform. Since Rakuten Medical’s first products were approved for head and neck cancer in Japan in 2019, Toshi has played a vital role to advance the treatment and technology. Toshi has been training not only internal clinical teams, but also external physicians to secure the safety of the treatment. Simultaneously, he has been collaborating with physicians to invent new device and treatment methods to maximize the potential efficacy of treatment.
Before joining Rakuten Medical, Toshi worked as a Gastroenterological surgeon for over 10 years at Jikei Medical University in Japan. In 2016, Toshi conducted research as a clinical researcher at University of California, San Diego for 2 years, to learn updated minimally invasive surgery techniques including robotic surgery and new medical devices. Toshi also brings over 10 years of medical experience in the pharmaceutical field.
Toshi received board certification in Japan Gastroenterological surgery in 2015 and received his PhD from Jikei Medical Univ. in 2016.
