The company conducts clinical trials to generate safety and efficacy information needed to obtain regulatory approval for its investigational products. More information about Rakuten Medical clinical trials can be found at <a href=\"http:\/\/clinicaltrials.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">clinicaltrials.gov<\/a>. Outside of a clinical trial, access to Rakuten Medical\u2019s investigational products would only be considered for the following circumstances:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rakuten Medical may provide access to its investigational products to patients with serious or life-threatening disease who do not have other treatment options, when enrollment into an active clinical trial for the investigational product is not feasible and when the potential benefits of the investigational product are greater than the know risks in the disease indication<\/li>\n<li>Rakuten Medical may provide continued access to its investigational products to trial participants once the clinical trial is complete<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-7218-2\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-has-style\"  style=\"margin-bottom: 0px\" ><div style=\"padding: 20px 0px 20px 0px;\" class=\"panel-row-style panel-row-style-for-7218-2\" ><div id=\"pgc-7218-2-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-7218-2-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-headline panel-first-child\" data-index=\"3\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-headline so-widget-sow-headline-default-05ff14e0bc64-7218\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t><div class=\"sow-headline-container \">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"sow-headline\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\tCriteria for Considering Requests for Expanded Access to a Rakuten Medical Investigational Product\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-7218-2-0-1\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-last-child\" data-index=\"4\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p>Rakuten Medical\u2019s Expanded Access Program (EAP) review committee will consider requests from physicians, from countries where such access is permitted by law. The review committee will assess and approve expanded access for individual patients, on a case-by-case basis when the following criteria are met:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The patient\u2019s disease or condition is believed to be serious or life- threatening<\/li>\n<li>There are no comparable or satisfactory approved and available alternative treatments for the disease or condition<\/li>\n<li>The patient is ineligible or unable to participate in an ongoing clinical trial<\/li>\n<li>There is sufficient clinical evidence of safety and effectiveness in the indication and that the potential benefit to the patient justifies the potential risks<\/li>\n<li>The expanded access will not interfere with the clinical development of the product nor jeopardize the regulatory approval<\/li>\n<li>The expanded access will be available in countries where Rakuten Medical expects to file for regulatory approval for the product commercially in the country from which the request was received once it has been approved<\/li>\n<li>The treating physician must have prior product training and hands-on experience utilizing the investigational product<\/li>\n<li>There is adequate product supply to support the request, ongoing, active clinical trials and investigational treatment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-7218-3\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-has-style\" ><div style=\"padding: 20px 0px 20px 0px;\" class=\"panel-row-style panel-row-style-for-7218-3\" ><div id=\"pgc-7218-3-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-7218-3-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-headline panel-first-child\" data-index=\"5\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-headline so-widget-sow-headline-default-05ff14e0bc64-7218\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t><div class=\"sow-headline-container \">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"sow-headline\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\tProcess for Requesting Expanded Access to Rakuten Medical\u2019s Investigational Products\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-7218-3-0-1\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-last-child\" data-index=\"6\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p>Patients interested in seeking expanded access to a Rakuten Medical investigational product should speak with their physician. A treating physician may request information about applying for access by contacting the Global Medical Affairs Department at: <a href=\"mailto:eap@rakuten-medical.com\">eap@rakuten-medical.com<\/a>. Rakuten Medical\u2019s EAP review committee will carefully review all expanded access requests in consideration of the above criteria.
